We all need more hobbies. Some people have one hobby and that’s great. But most people need more then one to feel fulfilled. This is especially important for my fellow homemakers. Women need to understand that we need to have a true hobby. Not cooking, cleaning, and talking about how our husband doesn’t put his own socks away. I can relate with most wives that they generally enjoy this type of house work, but it still is not enough. One of the biggest secrets that i have learned in my goal and dedication to becoming a better house wife is to create pockets of time, hobbies, that leave me recharged and ready to become a better wife in general. So I go running  and do yoga, I work on my blog, I devour books and play in the yard. This helps me get outside of my head and back into the fun loving person more often. Laundry, dishes and grocery shopping will always be there. But that should not rule our lives. I can say that when i am only focusing on my wifely duties and nothing else, i am not the best person to be around. I’m not fun at all! But once i come back from a run, or finish with a new blog post, i am as giddy and happy as i was after a pep rally in high school. I get this amazing high spirit about me that is all smiles and is ready to take on the world. Not all hobbies have to be expensive either. One place to check out is meetup.com. This is where i started and quit a running group.  This is also where i found other groups that do hikes and meditation sessions for free or donations only. This will mean that you will need to discover your own hobbies on your own. Join and try out local groups until you find your fit. It helps take your mind off of all the other responsibilities that we shoulder with out complain! (OK not real complaining, just Pinterest boards dedicated wining about cleaning and drinking wine).  Just remember to make sure that it is fun. Trust me, your spouse/kids will thank you for being a more calm and level headed person once you find your niche. Check out this book to get a better understand on why adults need to play just as much as kids.
