We all quit something. What we don’t understand is that quitting is a GOOD THING. We are brain washed into thinking that quitting is a bad thing and that we need to hide it from everyone. We are taught in school and other social settings that you do not give the impression of being a quitter, or you are not a trust worthy person. We don’t post on Facebook that we have quit something since it didn’t help make our lives better. Instead we continue to force ourselves into something that doesn’t fit. I have been doing a lot of thinking about why we force ourselves into things that don’t fit the past six months. I have even started journaling my story in Evernote of the things i am quitting and why. It is helping me come to terms with so many other aspects in my life. It also is a good way to help reevaluate who you thought you were. There is nothing wrong with quitting. I have come to think of it as our inner self telling us that we need to change. When we start avoiding things that’s a sign to quit, not necessarily to push on. Quitting can be a powerful tool that lets the true expression become free. Quitting has power. It helps you realize and refine your inner perception just a bit more. One challenge that people don’t realize that it take COURAGE to quit. It take a lot of understanding, strength and inner will to really quit something. That doesn’t mean that we wont feel guilty. But that feeling is most likely coming from the outstanding pressures that we have come to understand that is OK to live by. What would happen if we all quit something that made us unhappy? It could start giving us more confidence to quit other things that don’t fit in our lives. Helping us shape the reality of where we really want to be and not just where we have ended up.
