I love Gardening, but I hate having sticker shock when it comes to the price of having a great looking lawn and grounds. One thing that I started looking at was how could i cut my cost when it came to the maintenance part of gardening. This came to a head when I was taking one of the back roads home and I found a free mulch mound that was sponsored by the county. This  might not have gotten the average person excited but as a gardener i was ecstatic! I loved the fact that I had access to good quality mulch, with unlimited quantities and it was free!  After doing the math I figured that it would be saving me $60 every three months that i wouldn’t have to spend to buy mulch. This helped me expand my gardening budget in other ways. That way I could take that money and buy better quality plants and fertilizers. Other gardeners might be surprised that they could get free mulch as well. Just type in your county and free mulch into Google and see the possibilities that come up. Another resource can be getting in touch with the local gardening extension program for more free plants, mulch and other resources. I have the link here for anyone that wants to get free mulch in Pasco county.
