If you had asked me 10+ years ago if I would feel comfortable making money outside of my job. I would have laughed at you.
I have had a job since I was 13 years old. ( My dad was smart enough to make a photo copy of my first check for me. ) While I always knew that I had a good, strong work ethic. I could said with such confidence and a bit of swag that I always could make money through good paying jobs.
I couldn’t sell things or “side hustle” to save my life. Like it was BAD….. So before I was ready. Ben decided that he was going to make me a selling machine and I use those skills each day now.
Having the ability to sell has served me much more than to help get ride of the clutter around our home. Especially after we binge watch Hoarders on Netflix.
It has give me the ability to change over into a complete different industry. Negotiate multiple jobs and salaries and even our mortgage when we bought our last home.
But of course I wasnt born selling. I had to start small. I was actually on a girls night out about a week ago and I was having a convo with one of my friends. While she is no novice. There really is a difference between selling for someone else and selling for your self.
We talked monetization on all levels, so that she could start getting paid today. Standardizing her work and making “templates” and even went into my latest methods of outsourcing. That way I can “be everywhere at once”.
While these more advance strategies are great for a gal that has been selling for a bit. I was reminded that not long ago, that conversation would have been over my own head. So todays episode, I take it wayyy back and break down the true first baby steps of what it takes to start a side hustle.
